A life of changes
Ciao! My name is Anna Paola Cedrini and I was born in Abruzzo, in the center of Italy. After a few family moves I grew up mostly in Pistoia, in the heart of Tuscany, which is also my ‘base’ for ItaaliandiAmo journeys. My family still lives there but, after High School, I moved to Florence to study Foreign Languages. Changing towns and later countries doesn’t scare me. Together with Marco, my husband, I moved to Rome, then to Holland and finally, a few months ago, to Barcelona. Getting used to different climates, languages, cultures and ways of living implies quite a few adjustments. But I love it! It’s a kind of balance I try to achieve though moving is not easy but quite interesting and above all enriching.
Translator and teacher
Languages are part of me. In 1999 I got a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature at Florence University. In Pistoia I worked as an English and German high school teacher. After our move to Rome I became a tv script translator, a creative job I enjoyed a lot. When my husband Marco got a job in Holland, I saw it as an opportunity for myself to become an Italian teacher. That’s how I started working as a language trainer at DNA Languages and Dante Alighieri. At DNA I developed and gave many tailormade intensive Italian courses, a good and intense way to work. Dante Alighieri Rotterdam is a big organization and thanks to my colleagues and my students I got the chance to grow a lot both from a personal and a professional point of view.
In the late summer of 2017 we left Holland to move to Barcelona. New country, new opportunity: now that I live in Spain, and while I keep myself busy with learning Spanish, ItaaliandAmo has become my full-time job. That makes me feel very lucky!
How I came up with ItaaliandiAmo concept
During the seven years I spent working as an Italian teacher, I met many extraordinary, talented and enthusiastic people who all share a great passion for Italy, its culture and above all its language. The idea of combining my job as a language teacher, my open mindset and my love for working with people started to bubble up until I came up with the concept of ItaaliandiAmo, my ‘baby’ and a piece of myself. My ultimate desire is to convey a unique offer: an authentic Italian experience and an interactive, efficient and empathetic learning method. People are the core of ItaaliandiAmo. People who travel with me and those who work with us in Italy. Because all I want is to make my students feel at home in Italy!
A ‘home feeling’
We all know how important is to feel at ease when learning (and travelling), and how crucial a group can be in such a process. Our journey starts before actually leaving for Italy thanks to Skype calls and WhatsApp groups, and when possible, actual meetings that help us to get to know each other.
Then forget about busy classrooms and first day placement test stress, with ItaaliandiAmo our experience begins at your own house to continue under the warm Italian sun. In a week we will do and explore a lot, but I assure you that any and each will feel at ease and will get to know Italian and Italy at their own pace.
Every journey of ItaaliandiAmo is unique and made with passion, care for detail, professionality and love. I look forward to meeting you!
A presto, Anna

“I’ve been attending classes at Dante Alighieri Rotterdam for years. During two of these years Anna was my teacher. She is my favorite one, super enthusiastic, happy and caring. Beside that she is also an excellent teacher who explains everything with endless patience and love. I will join one of her trips for sure!”
